This week's #MeetTISB features Mr. Gopinathan, Head of Boarding. Mr. Gopinathan has been an integral part of TISB for the past 15 years.
Mr. Gopinathan Sivasubramaniam, grew up in a scenic town, Pollachi and continued his studies in Madurai and in Pondicherry to complete his post-graduation in English followed by a post-graduation in French and an M. Phil in French. He has worked as a French teacher in the schools in Madurai, Pollachi, Palakkad and as
an Assistant Professor of French in Kodaikanal Christian college before joining TISB.
"Over the years I have enjoyed teaching and guiding students in their academic journey. It has also been a pleasure to support them on the pastoral front. While being an educator I have realized that learning goes both ways, as I have learned lots of amazing things from my students. Each one of them were unique and very close to my heart, which made my job the best for me. Every class is exciting and engrossing thanks to their enthusiasm and energy, regardless of their shenanigans. I cherish the memories of all the batches of students, and how affectionate and respectful they have been."
Even in the midst of managing different schedules and boarding activities, students walk into Mr. Gopi's office for chit-chat, which he appreciates as he says "students always brighten my mood".
After my 15 years of experience, I would not trade anything for my memories as a teacher and as a pastoral support.
According to Mr. Gopi meeting students of different ethnicities has given him a different view on so many different cultures and languages and has helped him to develop respect for each of them.
