Mr. Pavan

This week's #MeetTISB features Mr. Pavan, Head of Network Services.

Born and raised in Visakhpatnam, he completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from VITAM-JNTU, after which he moved to Chennai. After 3 years in Chennai, he moved to Bangalore to work as Network Administrator. Having worked here for a little over a year, he heard about TISB from a colleague who wanted him to apply here.

“I started my journey at TISB in 2009 and I enjoy working here right from the start, especially watching young minds learn and grow.”

“A Mechanical engineering graduate by education but Technology has always fascinated me. This fascination never stopped me from learning. It even drove me to write a book on Windows Tips, Tricks, and Hacks back in the days of Windows 98 (unfortunately never published but gained a lot of popularity amongst my peers. I will save this history for another occasion, another day). “

My first experience at the school: I saw a 5th or 6th Grader use a portable proxy tool to bypass the firewall and I was immediately blown away. This is when I first felt that I have to tackle some pretty challenging tasks. I had the opportunity to implement several technologies and solutions. My most creative challenge is to provide complete Wi-Fi coverage in every twist and turn of GIH corridors. I enjoyed seeing the results of my efforts in this community, and I love when I can use technology to solve problems or make things better for the young and the experienced. I am very passionate about my work, and I take great pride in it. I've been working for TISB as a Network Manager for over 13 years and I continue to love to tinker with technology.

I'm also passionate about food— we're talking biryani here! —and I can't get enough of it! My favourite part about eating biryani is the smell that wafts up from it. (I don't think this is weird at all). I love biryani so much that it has been my password for many years! “Young folks reading this, don’t get any ideas! Trust me it will all go in vain.” :)

My wife and our 2 lovely kids persuaded me to travel, and I started to enjoy travelling in recent times. Apart from that, I read a lot online mainly about technology. I enjoy watching great thrillers. Zodiac and Se7en being particular favourites.
