Ms. Rachayita


This week's #MeetTISB features Ms. Rachayita, our CAS coordinator. Born and brought up in Kolkata, a city thriving with its own rich culture and heritage. She carries the legacy of Tagore’s philosophy of education and always makes time for art and culture. During her school and college days, Ms. Rachayita was always into drama, elocution and writing. After finishing her schooling from Ramakrishna Mission school, she went to Bethune College to undertake the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She has done her Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta, West Bengal. She started writing in “little magazines” and has bagged a few prizes for writing Bengali short stories. Immediately after her post-graduation, Ms. Rachayita got a job in BPL Telecom at Bangalore. Since then, she is in love with the Garden City. Ms. Rachayita started her profession as a teacher from 2003 and always been loved by her students.

Being a teacher for 15 years, she knows how to create a responsive and effective learning environment. She is adaptive, creative, and responsible. As the IBDP CAS coordinator, she has additional responsibility of collaborating with the students, other faculty members, and social welfare organisations to deliver services to the underprivileged.
Ms Rachayita believes in learning through life. The motto in TISB always inspires her. She has multitasking skills. Along with teaching, the mother of two loving daughters, manages to make time for writing Bengali Poetry and acts in English Plays as part of a Theatre troupe. Her hobby is photography and painting. In her free times she loves designing tattoos.

What’s the best thing about being in TISB?
I like the serene and beautiful campus specially the pathway to GIH.

Whenever she finds empty walls, she starts painting on it.

Why do we learn History in Chemistry? (While learning Evolution of Atoms.)
