My journey throughout the NFTE World Series of Innovation, an exceedingly prestigious international level entrepreneurship competition, was an incredible learning experience, to say the least. With thousands of participants aged 13-24 from all over the world, the competition was stiff, yet the learning was immense. Representing India at a global level was an experience that I will forever cherish, and the plethora of new ideas I was exposed to while presenting to the larger international community made me feel like making a difference is not as impossible as it sounds.
From a very young age, I have been exposed to stories about the horrors of domestic violence within our community, and this irked me considerably. I was determined that I would do everything in my power to emancipate as many women suffering from this as possible.

From a very young age, I have been exposed to stories about the horrors of domestic violence within our community, and this irked me considerably. I was determined that I would do everything in my power to emancipate as many women suffering from this as possible. My project encompassed a social enterprise that aimed to ameliorate the horrific condition of women battling domestic violence in rural and urban India alike, by providing them with the opportunity to be financially literate. Using a variety of learning packages, covering basic concepts of English, Mathematics and finance spanning a few weeks, women will be taught to save, spend and become financially independent. They will then educate others, and set up a chain reaction, which could potentially impact the lives of thousands. Being in the top 10 finalists in my category came as a huge surprise to me, and I was ecstatic that the judges thought that my idea really had the potential to make a strong impact on the world we live in. It inspired me to continue working hard to help people and strive to assist in exonerating thousands of helpless women, who suffer incessantly due to domestic abuse.
